Is Alternative Medicine Better? Maybe NOT!
Do you “believe” in holistic health care and alternative medicine?
If you do, you are not alone. The World Health Organization estimates that 65 to 80 percent of the world’s population (about 3 billion people) rely on alternative forms of medicine as their primary form of health care.
But what would you say if I told you there’s NO difference between conventional medical treatment and alternative holistic practices?
Well, of course, there are some differences, but it’s the similarities between conventional medicine and holistic medicine that bother me.
I’ve seen both methods are being used these days to treat people at the “symptom” level. I’ve seen supposed “holistic healers” look at a patient’s symptoms, and then prescribe standardized remedies and treatments, just like medical doctors do.
For example, say you are suffering from allergies. The allopathic physician may prescribe antihistamines to counteract the symptoms. Similarly, the holistic physician may prescribe herbs, vitamins, acupuncture, or homeopathic remedies to clear up the allergies.
The only difference here is that “natural remedies” have been substituted for medical drugs. But the approach of “treating symptoms” is the same.
However, Real Metabolic Typing is truly an alternative approach. Instead of trying to treat symptoms, we focus on building health from the cellular level up. By modifying your food choices to fit your exact metabolism type, we are feeding the little “bio-chemical factories” (individual cells) in your body, getting them to produce SOMETHING DIFFERENT to help heal you from the cellular level on up.
Now when you fill out your nutrition questionnaire, I DO want to hear about any symptoms or diagnoses you might have. You should definitely include that on your form. But keep in mind that we’re working at a deeper level than superficial symptoms.
That’s because Real Metabolic Typing is truly an alternative holistic practice.
